Sara Hult and Keith Amerson come to us through Tri-State Learning based in New Rochelle. Sara started with us this past summer (04) when she was working with Redwood Learning Center based in Chatham, NJ. But with her move to Tri-State, she is bringing the experience of Keith to complement her talents as our lead consultant. Sara guides us through all of Jack's behaviorial modification programs and his learning. Since Sara's start, Jack has really emerged with his play skills (he's the puzzle master!), his matching, his sorting, his receptive language and his speech.
Alisonwas a student of Toni's at Brookdale Community College who stood out from her peers in terms of dedication and intellect. When it was time to build a therapy team, Toni thought of Alison as a great young person who could be trained in Behavioral Therapy. Toni was right! Alison is the "rock" of our team and is the therapist that the other therapists rely upon for the latest on Jack's progress. Alison clearly comes from good stock, as her mom went completely out of her way to throw Jack his 4th birthday party, at her house. She spoiled everybody with great food, treats and party favors!
Melissais actually Noah's first love :-) as she was Noah's babysitter when we first moved to Morganville. Melissa was a high school student recommended as a babysitter by our neighbor. When we were looking to expand our team and train a new therapist, Melissa came back into our life and we're incredibly thankful for having her. She has been with us since June of 2004 and has proven to be a natural in the art of behavioral therapy and her honesty about Jack's progress is her greatest quality.
Shanynnjoined our program in July of 2004 and fit right into our extended family perfectly. She had previously worked for the Early Intervention Services in Brooklyn prior to moving to NJ. Sophie took immediately to Shanynn and that made our choice to bring her onto the team very easy. Shanynn brings a new spark to our team with her enthusiasm, humor and her ability to handle my constant teasing.
Behavioral Team:
Speech Team:
Lynn and Lori joined the team this past summer after Toni sat through a presentation made by Lynn at the Monmouth County Library on the subject of Childhood Apraxia. Lynn's Speech Center focuses on Oral Motor exercises and use of the PROMPT method to encourage speech. Since Lynn and Lori joined Jack's team, Jack has started to echo sounds and has started to occasionally put multiple words together. He regularly says "Jack's a good boy". You can learn all about Lynn and Lori at their website, http://www.lynnsspeechtherapycenterinc.com
Occupational Therapy:
Terry Moser has been with us from the very start, (the picture on the left was taken when Jack was 2 1/2) and has been one of Jack's greatest supporters. She works with Jack twice a week, year round and has led Jack to amazing improvements in all of his motor skills. Terry has also trained Toni on providing Jack with a proper sensory diet throughout his day including listening and brushing therapy. Terry owns and operates Tender Touch O.T. in Red Bank, NJ.
Andrea is the newest member of Team Jack, coming to us in September of 2005 upon a recommendation from Melissa. This is Andrea's first position, working with children with Autism, as she works her way through college. Andrea has fit right in and has come up to speed rapidly in understanding discrete trial and A.B.A. She has truly become yet another member of our extended family.
